Supergut’s resident Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Erika Fox recently sat down with Supergut host and Nutritionist Elisa Zuniga to chat through specific ways you can keep your gut health in top shape during the holiday season.
To view the full Webinar, you can check that out here:
In it, Erika and Elisa cover a wide range of topics, including:
- The impact of the holidays on gut health
- How to keep your gut healthy during the holidays (and beyond)
- The best ways to incorporate Supergut into your busy life
They also answered an equally wide mix of questions from the audience, including:
- How is your Supergut better than your competition?
- Is it ok to mix SuperGut with other fiber brands?
- Is the Supergut Fiber Mix as effective as the Supergut Shake?
- How many days should I use the super gut and does it make me bloated after I drink the shake?
Of course, there wasn’t time to answer all of the questions during the webinar. But fear not! We’ve answered the remaining handful below.
Hi! New Supergut customer here. Question re: the placebo controlled the study on restraint starch – pumped to know that there’s strong science behind what I am putting in my body every day! Would love more details. Wondering how you partnered with Stanford? Have heard they do great microbiome research there!
You’re right, they do GREAT microbiome research at Stanford Research Lab! We can’t wait to share the precise details of our study soon. The pre-print with clinical results and our peer reviewed publication with Stanford’s analysis will be available shortly on bioRxiv.org.
What makes supergut different from other fiber products like Metamucil?
Great question! The main difference is the type of fiber. Whereas Metamucil uses fiber from psyllium husk, what makes Supergut special is our prebiotic fiber blend.
Supergut products feature a proprietary blend of 4 different fibers that are both soluble and insoluble. In our blend, we use oat beta-glucan and vegetable fiber as soluble fibers. These fibers break down and create a gel as they make their way through your digestive tract!
Our green banana and resistant potato starch contribute to our special resistant starch blend. Resistant starch is a unique type of prebiotic fiber that has characteristics of both insoluble and soluble fiber. Resistant starch gets its name because it resists digestion and then travels mostly intact all the way to your colon to nourish the good bacteria in your gut. This unleashes healthy metabolites called short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) like butyrate, which have all sorts of health benefits throughout the body.
Each type of fiber in Supergut products provides different benefits. These include improved digestion, reduced cholesterol, better blood sugar control, supported weight loss, and more!
